Laura Black
Licensee & Class 1 Licensed Strata Manager · Tweed Coast, NSW
Laura brings extensive strata management experience across NSW, including senior strata management and Licensee-in-Charge responsibilities within larger organisations. Her experience spans the full spectrum of strata management — from day-to-day governance and financial management through to compliance, dispute resolution, defects and major works.
After years working within larger strata organisations, Laura created Solrise Strata to offer something intentionally different: a smaller, more personal approach where clients know exactly who is managing their building.
Solrise is a boutique, owner-led strata management business. When you call or email, you are dealing directly with the person who knows your scheme, understands its history and is responsible for its management. There are no large teams to navigate and no need to explain your building from the beginning every time you get in touch.
Being small is intentional. It allows Laura to work closely with committees and owners, build genuine relationships and maintain a hands-on understanding of each building under her care.
Laura believes good strata management isn't simply about issuing levy notices, arranging meetings and meeting compliance requirements. It's about knowing the building, understanding the people who call it home and being there when something needs attention.

Why I started Solrise
A better way to work with committees
I spent years in large agencies where one manager could be carrying dozens of schemes. That model works for volume, but it does not work for owners who need answers, committees who need guidance, or buildings with complex histories.
Solrise was built around the opposite idea: fewer schemes, deeper knowledge, and direct access. I wanted owners to feel like their manager actually knows their building — because they do.
The name Solrise reflects the Tweed Coast mornings I love: calm, clear, and full of possibility. That is the feeling I want committees to have when they open their inbox or finish a meeting.
